New Orleans, Street Jazz & Dirty Rap Documentary by Samuel Petit New Orleans is like no other city in the United States. Proud of its French past, its heart beats to the rhythm of jazz - the city even gave its name to a specific style of jazz. Director Samuel Petit follows Rusty Lazer, a DJ and producer of 'bounce music' - a local style of hip hop -, members of the legendary Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Trombone Shorty, a musician who has become a symbol of the city's new musical tradition. They tell of the scars of a community deeply wounded by hurricane Katrina and of the way its individual members try to overcome the trauma. Recorded on 2013

Éric Legnini Trio Éric Legnini Trio Eric Legnini (piano) Rocky Gresset (guitar) Thomas Bramerie (double bass) A foot-stomping jazz, touched by soul and by funk. Eric Legnini's recording tryptich, begun in 2006 with Miss Soul (then Big Boogaloo and Trippin'), marking the magnificent first steps of a leader for a pianist with a hyper-sophisticated bop language as early as the middle of the 1990's alongside the saxophonist Stefano Di Battista. Since then, the Belgian musician, settled in Paris has led an eclectic career, multiplied collaborations with vocalists (his friend Huge Coltman amngst others) and regularly puts on his producer's hat. In this 2019 season, Eric Legnini is coming back to the trio, but this time without drums : he will be accompanied by the guitarist Rocky Gresset (a reference on the Gypsy jazz scene) and by Thomas Bramerie (long-time touring partner and very probably the most sought after Parisian bass player) with whom he will present a completely new repertoire. The bizarre society was founded in the 19th century in Great Britain and it still believes that pictures taken from space are false. The eponymous 1998 Big Band from Belgium, however, plays anything but flat music. The claim to fame came for this jazz orchestra, founded by artist and clarinettist Peter Vermeersch in 2004, as he and pianist Uri Caine went on tour. In 2006 they released their first CD, 'Psychoscout', followed by their second CD, 'Clear Me, Perverts!' in 2009. A rebel and anti-conformist ensemble with a lot to offer, from faithful adherence to music rules to intoxicating improvisation.

Erik Truffaz (trumpet) Marcello Giuliani (bass) Benoît Corboz piano (Fender Rhodes) Marc Erbetta (drums) With special guests Nya (voice) Guillaume Perret (saxophone) The trumpet player of Swiss origin, Erik Truffaz,is one of the first European jazzmen to have successfully approached drum'n'bass. In 1991 he founded a quartet which today is composed of Benoît Corboz (keyboards), Marcello Giuliani (bass) and Marc Erbetta (drums and percussion),he explores electronic jazz-fusion much in the same way as Miles Davis and recorded several albums starting from 1994. After an incursion into into rock at the head of his Ladybird Quartet created in 2001, he returned to the formula which had made him successful. In his world, always deeply influenced by Miles Davis, the stridencies of rock alternate with the poetic respites, the rousing grooves with more calm ballads. Recorded at Jazz in Marciac Festival (Circus top), on August 6, 2018 TV Director, Jean-Marc Birraux
