Hugh Coltman (voice) Frédéric Couderc (baritone clarinet) Jérôme Etcheberry (trumpet) Jerry Edwards (trombone) Didier Havet (soubassophone) Freddy Koella (guitar) Gael Rakotondrabe (piano) Raphael Chassin (drums) Heard in the company of the pianist Eric Legnini on an album where he was simply a guest, Hugh Coltman rapidly broke the barrier of confidentiality to gain access to the the antechamber of notoriety. His latest hour of glory (for the time being), was his allegorical project based on the repertoire of Nat King Cole, the historic crooner and pianist. The voice of this Brit possesses that full masculinity which characterises his dedicatee, but it carries with it a bit of spleen, a sort of Baudelairian charm which the language of Shakespeare makes even more palpable...A confirmation eagerly awaited in Marciac this summer with his new album 'Who's happy?'. With drums which dance just like in one of those legendary burials in New Orleans, brass saturated with soul, guitars mixing up all the blues and all the folk... Hugh Coltman treated himself to a sublime backdrop for eleven songs in which his warm 'been through it all' voice can be heard. He is a conoisseur in human emotions, always charitable towards the evening's lover, the lost soul at dawn or the forlorn in the blazing sunshine. Recorded at Jazz in Marciac Festival (Circus top), on July 31, 2018 TV Director, Jean-Marc Birraux

Laurent Coulondre trio 'Michel on my mind' Tribute to Michel Petrucciani Laurent Coulondre, piano, keyboard Jérémy Bruyère, double bass Martin Wangermée, drums Setlist Looking Up (Michel Petrucciani) Laura (Laurent Coulondre) Chorinino (Laurent Coulondre) Les grelots (Eddy Louiss) Michel on my mind (Laurent Coulondre) Brazilian like (Michel Petrucciani) Cantabile (Michel Petrucciani) A new sensation on the French piano scene , Laurent Coulondre pays tribute to one of the musicians who has most marked his career as a musician and jazzman: Michel Petrucciani. The keyboard prodigy plunges frantically into the strings of the acoustic piano and chooses the trio as a formula to revive the repertoire of the pianist with brittle bones, and shows us - if needs be - that jazz is a language that he negotiates with masterly hands (left included). Coulondre elegantly composes and arranges a solar and generous repertoire, equal to the height of genius. Steeped in the creativity and harmony long promoted by Petrucciani, this homage reflects the perfect osmosis between volcanic rhythm and subtle melodies. Recorded on July 18, 2020, Parc du Chateau d'eau, Jazz à Sète TV Director, Samuel Thiebaut

Lucky Peterson, tribute to Jimmy Smith Lucky Peterson (organ, lyric) Nicolas Fomer (trumpet) Kekyn Crapp (guitar) Ahmad Compaoré (drums) Twelve years after the death of Jimmy Smith, Lucky Peterson, pays a tribute to the master of the Hammond organ.' My father brought me up on blues before I could even walk, and I played the organ before having learnt to speak.'Lucky Peterson, The precocious, classy little baby's bottle was thrown into music as soon as he was born.To this die-hard blues man, who is the guardian of the flame, he was able to add a well-chosen dose of groove. There is no doubt that it was a suitable way to honour Jimmy Smith, who was a reference in the realm of jazz soul and with whom he had exchanged in his youth. Finally this dive into history reminds us how much the hymns of the 1950's and 1960's remain incredibly sensual, enough to encourage the choir of a church to dance...
