Shabaka and the Ancestors Shabaka Akua Lumumba Kamau Hutchings (saxophone ténor) Mthunzi Mvubu (saxophone alto) Siyabonga Mthembu (voix) Ariel Zomonsky (Basse) Tumi Mogorosi (batterie) Gontse Makhene (Percussions) Playlist . Nguni (Shabaka Hutchings, Siyabonga Mthembu) . The Sea (Shabaka Hutchings) . The Observer (Shabaka Hutchings, Siyabonga Mthembu) . Joyous ((Shabaka Hutchings) . Natty (Shabaka Hutchings) . Mzwandile (Shabaka Hutchings, Siyabonga Mthembu) . Chik CHIkka (Lykaty Astatke) Refocusing jazz could be Shabaka Hutchings' mantra. The tenor saxophonist recently went to Johannesburg to soak up South African heritage and to surround himself with the country's best musicians. It led to a celebratory, spiritual sound on the vibrant Wisdom of Elders, recorded in just one day in Johannesburg. The music composed by the saxophonist is primitive, spontaneous, and unpredictable. It's infused with drummer Tumi Mogoros's polyrhythmic beats and the hypnotic sounds of singer Siyabonga Mthembu. British Shabaka Hutchings has Barbadian roots. He's been recognized as a key player on the London jazz scene for a few years now. He got noticed when he brought African and Caribbean sounds to Sons Of Kemet and by playing with the electro-cosmic sounds of The Comet Is Coming. Enregistré le 12 juillet 2017 au Montreux Jazz Festival (Montreux Jazz Club) Réalisation, Marc Schütrumpf

Esperanza Spalding : Emily's D + Evolution at the Melbourne Jazz Festival 2016 Esperanza Spalding, bass / vocals Matt Steven, guitar Justin Tyson, drums Emily Elbert, vocals Originally conceived the day before her birthday -during a 'sleepless night of full moon inspiration'- Emily's D+Evolution will perform all-new material that Spalding says 'unfolds as live musical vignettes.' 'Emily is my middle name and I'm using this fresh persona as my inner navigator. This project is about going back and reclaiming un-cultivated curiosity, and using it as a compass to move forward and expand' says Spalding. 'My hope for this group is to create a world around each song... We will be staging the songs as much as we play them, using characters, video and the movement of our bodies.' Emily's D+Evolution is opening Melbourne Jazz Festival 2016 in the Forum. Recorded on June 3rd 2016 at the Forum Melbourne TV direction by Mathieu Mastin

Chlorine Free feat. Recorded on May 11, 2018 at the Grand Auditoire, Like a jazz machine festival, Dudalange, Luxembourg TV Director, Samuel Thiebautt
