Amaury faye Trio Amaury Faye, piano Louis Navarro, double bass Théo Lanau, percussion In keeping with the big piano trios and Big Moe Trio (in 2010), perfected from his Toulouse kingdom, the new project from Amaury Faye tells his story. He takes inspiration from artists on the contemporary New York scene and the latest trends in European jazz. Amaury Faye went to study at Berklee College in Boston with pianist Joanne Brackeen (Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon) and Tia Fuller (Joe Lovano) in 2014. The pianist is a member of the Toulouse-based Initiative H alongside his trio. Their repertoire includes original tracks and cool covers. There's a blend of improvisation and writing, virtuosity and finesse, lyricism and undulating beats (e.g. on the Fender Rhodes). Faye is one to watch on the international piano scene and famous for his talents as both a soloist and composer. Amaury Faye, Louis Navarro and Théo Lanau put the heritage of the past into fuelling the future. Recorded on 2017, July 13th at the Jazz Festival in Vienne TV Director, Nicolas Micha

Harold Lopez Nussa Trio Harold Lopez Nussa (piano) Ruy Adrian Lopez Nussa (drums) Gaston Joya (bass) Harold Lopez Nussa is a Cuban pianist who comes from a family of musicians. When you hear him it seems as if he is the custodian of all the musical traditions of the Caribbean, open to all the influences from Africa and the Americas without even mentioning the great European classical composers. It is an indication of just how much music lives within him and how he never ceases to want to share it with us. On stage, Harold Lopez overflows with expression just like everything which characterizes 'feeling' in Cuban music which is savoured with a shot of rum in the ears. Harold Lopez the direct descendent of the great Cuban pianists, Cucho Valdez, Carlos Maza, Roberto Fonseca, pianists who irresistibly make you get up off your seat and dance. Recorded on July 9, 2018 at the Jazz à Porquerolles Festival TV Director, Frank Cassenti

Golden Striker Trio Ronald L. Carter (bass guitar ) Russel L. Malone (guitar) Donald Vega (piano) A hugely talented double bassist, gifted with a remarkable sense of melody and widely recognised for the finesse and elegance of his playing style, the American Ron Carter is a living legend. A musician of genius, he started out playing with Gil Evans, Lena Horne, Bill Evans, B.B. King, Dexter Gordon, Wes Montgomery, Eric Dolphy and Bobby Timmons. He then went on to win fame alongside Cannonball Adderley and Thelonious Monk and, of course, from 1963 to 1968, in the famous quintet formed by Miles Davis. Closer to us in time, Ron Carter became a respected musical leader in his own right in the Golden Striker Trio with Russell Malone and Mulgrew Miller ('Golden Striker' album, 2003) and opted, like Ray Brown towards the end of his life, for the legendary trio of piano/guitar/bass, first used by Nat King Cole and Art Tatum. This classical tradition is fully assumed by Miles' former bassist. In concert, the emotion often reaches a climax with one of his favourite songs, the standard 'My Funny Valentine'. A native of Michigan (born in 1937), Ron Carter won a Grammy Award in 1998 for the instrumental 'Call Sheet Blues' from the soundtrack of the film 'Round Midnight'. In 2010, he was made a Commander in the Order of Arts and Letters in France. Last year, his virtuoso association with the accordionist Richard Galliano enjoyed great success in France. A musical sense forged with tungsten, like the strings on his bass, and with all his elegance and freshness intact, the legend is back. Recorded on July 5, at the Festival Jazz à Vienne TV Director, Fabien Raymond

Monty Alexander, piano Born in Jamaca on D-Day- a sign of destiny ? - Monty Alexander rapidly left his native country for the United States. In New York, he regularly accompanied Frank Sinatra and performed in the jazz clubs of Manhattan (including the famous Minton's which was the birthplace of bebop) where Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Miles Davies did not miss a chance of hearing him play. After more than fifty years of a career crowned with collaborations with Tony Bennett, Nathalie Cole, Clint Eastwood, Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, Quincy Jones, Ernest Ranglin and Barbara Hendricks the pianist travelled around the globe thrilling audiences with his vibrant personality, which communicated an original musical message, in which the heady beat of reggae is mixed with the contagious rocking of swing. Recorded on November 23, 2018 at the Seine Musicale TV director, Julien Faustino

We Love Ella The Amazing Keystone Big Band Bastien Ballaz, Aloïs Benoit, Loïc Bacheveillier, Sylvain Thomas (trombones) Jon Boutellier, Pierre Desassis, Kenny Jeanney, Eric Prost, Ghyslain Regard (saxophones) David Enhco, Thierry Sénéau, Vincent Labarre, Félicien Bouchot (trumpets) Fred Nardin (piano), François Thibaut (Guitar) Patrick Maradan (Double Bass) Romain Sarron (Drums) Guests Célia Kaméni (vocal) China Moses (vocal) Sarah McKenzie (vocal, piano) The Amazing Keystone Big Band loves Ella and pays more than a simple vibrant homage to she who loved big bands so much (she sang with those of Chick Weeb, Duke Ellington and Count Basie)and identified with the same vein as the one of the same name that the PBS Radio had ???? with Jon Faddis, James Moody, Lizz Wright, Patti Austin. The guest singer, Célia Kaméni, does not attempt either to compete with or to imitate, that would be impossible anyway, the first lady of song gets to grips with her world in order to sing it better. And it works perfectly, and it has to be said that the orchestra is absolutely irreproachable with its waves of intensity, its stresses, an expressive clarity which gives it a very lare range of expression. It's all there, the phrasing, the accents, the rhythm, the groove, the drive this swing, this je ne sais quoi between individual liberty and collective happiness, put simply...Jazz! Recorded on March 23, 2019 at the Salle Pleyel TV Director,Laurent Hasse
