The Necks Chris Abrahams, piano Tony Buck, drums Lloyd Swanton, bass From unlikely beginnings as a band experimenting privately with no intention of ever performing in public, The Necks have gone on to achieve extraordinary worldwide acclaim for their unique music making. Now in their fourth decade of collaboration, the almost-telepathic rapport between the trio is one of the most compelling in live music. The Necks' live shows have been likened to an almost religious experience, conjuring a chemistry that defies description in orthodox terms. Performing off the back of Unfold, their most recent release and eighteenth as a band, this is an unmissable opportunity to experience one of this country's most iconic ensembles. Recorded on June 5th 2017 at The Jazzlab, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Australia TV Director, Mathieu Mastin

Archie Shepp, musical direction, saxophones Ambrose Akinmusire, trumpet Jason Moran, piano Richard Davis, double bass Billy Hart, drums With guests: Marion Rampal, voice Izidor Leitinger, trumpet Sébastien Llado, trombone Jean-Philippe Scali, baritone saxophone Playlist Naima - John Coltrane - Arranged by Izidor Leitinger Cousin Mary - John Coltrane - Arranged by Izidor Leitinger Blasé - Archie Shepp Prelude to a Kiss - Duke Ellington Los Olvidados - Archie Shepp In 1960, Archie Shepp attended a concert by John Coltrane at the Five Spot, the mythical club on the Lower East Side. Totally fascinated, he decided to pick up the tenor saxophone. Five years later, Shepp - already a reference in the world of free jazz - recorded alongside his hero. The resulting album, 'Ascension', was released in 1966, and remains today one of the great monuments of free improvisation. To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Coltrane's death - at the age of forty - the most Parisian representative of the New York avant-garde pays tribute to the brilliant composer of 'A Love Supreme', with a Franco-American all-star band not unlike that which recorded the revolutionary 'Ascension'. A giant of jazz pays tribute to one of his gods... Recorded on September 3rd 2016 at the Grande Halle of la Villette TV Director, Frank Cassenti

Robot ! Choreography, artistic direction Blanca Li Musical robots, Maywa Denki Scenography, Pierre Attrait Light, Jacques Chatelet Music, Tao Gutierrez In partnership with Aldebaran for the NAO robots Dancers, Yacnoy Abreu Alfonso, Emilie Camacho, Géraldine Fournier, Yann Hervé, Aliashka Hilsum, Samir M'Kirech, Margalida Riera Roig, Gael Rougegrez and 8 robots Eight dancers and the musically animated humanoids of the Japanese collective Maywa Denki are directed by Blanca Li and investigate the relationship between man and machine, in the particular context where robots tend to become more and more human. This innovative performance is immediately engaging and the audience is dazzled by the technical prowess of the robotic choreography. A futuristic fantasy, 'Robot!', Blanca Li's new creation for the Montpellier Dance Festival, is one of these unidentified objects the choreographer from Andalusia particularly enjoys. In this approach to 'total theatre', she involves eight dancers and the animated humanoids of the Japanese collective Maywa Denki. The resulting opera takes stock of a world in which mathematics and technology try to harness human life and design thinking machines. Machines with desires... A post-dadaist choreographer, influenced by psychoanalytically-minded Martha Graham and her native city of Granada where she was a gymnast at the age of twelve, Blanca Li enjoys a comical and poetical form of humour. Her 'Garden of Earthly Delights' after Hieronymus Bosch, premiered at Montpellier in 2009, her opera 'Rag Time' after Scott Joplin, a commercial for the Longchamp brand and a show for Jean-Paul Gaultier all partake of her invitation to 'come and dance with me'. 'Robot!' clearly belong to this tradition. Recorded at the Maison des Arts & de la Culture de Créteil TV directors, Blanca Li et Gaetan Chataigner

Rymden Bugge Wesseltoft, piano Dan Berglund; double bass Magnus Ostrom, drums When the rhythmic section of the mythical Swedish jazz group played again for the first time in trio since the passing of Esbjörn Svensson, it produces Rymden (space in the French version) - logical for blokes who are into atmospheric sounds. Alongside them, one of the most exciting pianists of the Nordic jazz scene. Founder of the thrilling label Jazzland and pillar of cross-overs between impro and electro, Bugge Wesseltoft is very much an ideal playing partner. A 'young' trio filled with experience(s). Recording at the Tourcoing Jazz Festival on October 12, 2019 TV Director, Samuel Thiebaut

Youn Sun Nah Youn Sun Nah, voice Tomek Miernowski, guitars, piano, synthesizer , programming Rémi Vihnolo, drums, double bass, electric bass, programming A decade after the release of Same Girl, recording marking the consecration in 2010 of Youn Sun Nah, she continues to assert herself as a singer resolutely not to be classified, whose all-embracing virtuoso voice can handle jazz, improvisation, opera, pop and world music. With her recent album, a polished made in-studio immersion with the complicity of her producer-arranger Clément Ducol, the Korean has produced her most personal work to date: apart from the revisiting of an eclectic repertoire from Albéniz to Michel Legrand and George Harrison, Marvin Gaye and Leonard Cohen, she leaves plenty of room for the first time for her own compositions, thus confirming a singular talent as a songwriter. An explosive cocktail, which can be taken full advantage of on stage with the complicity of Tomek Miernowski on guitars and keyboards as well as the phenomenal Rémi Vignolo, just as at ease on the drums as on the double bass. Recorded at the D'jazz Nevers on November 16, 2019 TV Director, Samuel Thiebaut
