Lucky Peterson, tribute to Jimmy Smith Lucky Peterson (organ, lyric) Nicolas Fomer (trumpet) Kekyn Crapp (guitar) Ahmad Compaoré (drums) Twelve years after the death of Jimmy Smith, Lucky Peterson, pays a tribute to the master of the Hammond organ.' My father brought me up on blues before I could even walk, and I played the organ before having learnt to speak.'Lucky Peterson, The precocious, classy little baby's bottle was thrown into music as soon as he was born.To this die-hard blues man, who is the guardian of the flame, he was able to add a well-chosen dose of groove. There is no doubt that it was a suitable way to honour Jimmy Smith, who was a reference in the realm of jazz soul and with whom he had exchanged in his youth. Finally this dive into history reminds us how much the hymns of the 1950's and 1960's remain incredibly sensual, enough to encourage the choir of a church to dance... A fitting and powerful tribute to him comes from saxophonist Emile Parisien and partner in crime Vincent Peirani on the accordion. The two Frenchmen have brought their fellow Austrian 'groove' explorers on board: Paco Sery and Linley Marthe, respectively drummer and bassist in the Zawinul Syndicate (his last group) and West Indian percussionist Mino Cinelu who performed on the last albums for the game-changing Weather Report. The idea behind the File Under Zawinul project came from saxophonist Emile Parisien's time with the Syndicate, a band formed in tribute to the Viennese pianist. Parisien met the vibrant guitarist Manu Codjia and sound architect Tony Paeleman on his Fender Rhodes at the Syndicate who are both to join File Under Zawinul. The Moroccan singer and percussionist Aziz Samahoui who performed with Joe for over 10 years will also be part of the international all-star Zawinul line-up. Naïssam Jalal Live at Banlieues Bleues 2017 Naïssam Jalal feat. Hamid Drake, Quest of invisible F. Naïssam Jalal, compositions, flute, nay Leonardo Montant, piano Claude Tchamitchian, bass Harmid Drake, battery, drums The flautist continues her search for meaning with a dream quartet to approach the mystical and spiritual side of jazz. From her early days, Naissam Jalal has been oscillating between the West, symbolized by the traverso she studied at the Conservatory, and the East, represented by the ney, which she studied with great masters in Damascus and Cairo. In residence at the Dynamo, she sets a new objective: to integrate improvised modal jazz with non-western traditions, like the Arab dhikr, the Indian raga, and Gnawa trance. A specialist of the genre, drummer and percussionist Hamid Drake immediately recognized in her the ability he himself acquired alongside Don Cherry and Pharoah Sanders. He is now part of the adventure. Recorded on 2017, March 28th at the Dynamo of Banlieues Bleues, Pantin, as part of the 'Banlieues Bleues' Festival TV Director, Gilles Le Mao

Youn Sun Nah Youn Sun Nah, voice Tomek Miernowski, guitars, piano, synthesizer , programming Rémi Vihnolo, drums, double bass, electric bass, programming A decade after the release of Same Girl, recording marking the consecration in 2010 of Youn Sun Nah, she continues to assert herself as a singer resolutely not to be classified, whose all-embracing virtuoso voice can handle jazz, improvisation, opera, pop and world music. With her recent album, a polished made in-studio immersion with the complicity of her producer-arranger Clément Ducol, the Korean has produced her most personal work to date: apart from the revisiting of an eclectic repertoire from Albéniz to Michel Legrand and George Harrison, Marvin Gaye and Leonard Cohen, she leaves plenty of room for the first time for her own compositions, thus confirming a singular talent as a songwriter. An explosive cocktail, which can be taken full advantage of on stage with the complicity of Tomek Miernowski on guitars and keyboards as well as the phenomenal Rémi Vignolo, just as at ease on the drums as on the double bass. Recorded at the D'jazz Nevers on November 16, 2019 TV Director, Samuel Thiebaut
