Lucky Peterson, tribute to Jimmy Smith Lucky Peterson (organ, lyric) Nicolas Fomer (trumpet) Kekyn Crapp (guitar) Ahmad Compaoré (drums) Twelve years after the death of Jimmy Smith, Lucky Peterson, pays a tribute to the master of the Hammond organ.' My father brought me up on blues before I could even walk, and I played the organ before having learnt to speak.'Lucky Peterson, The precocious, classy little baby's bottle was thrown into music as soon as he was born.To this die-hard blues man, who is the guardian of the flame, he was able to add a well-chosen dose of groove. There is no doubt that it was a suitable way to honour Jimmy Smith, who was a reference in the realm of jazz soul and with whom he had exchanged in his youth. Finally this dive into history reminds us how much the hymns of the 1950's and 1960's remain incredibly sensual, enough to encourage the choir of a church to dance... Liniker e os Caramelows Liniker Barros (lyric) Renata Essis (chorus) Eder Araujo (saxophone) Fernando Trz (keyboard) William Zaharanski (guitar) Rafael Barone (Bass) Péricles Zuanon (drums) Marja Lenski (percussion) Led by a transsexuel singer with knock out charisma, this is the soul sensation which has arrived from Brazil and which we haven't finished talking about. It is not for nothing that the group is called 'The Toffees'. Because they are soft, sweet, chewy, amusing, endearing. In less than three years , the Paulites have succeeded in exploding the YouTube audience assessment meters and conquered Brazil with their hybrid tropical soul which fits perfectly into the footsteps of a Tim Maia. Released in 2016, their first album 'Remonta' is a pure chef d'oeuvre of 'funzy', the style which they have created: a sort of languorous funk interspersed with explosions of hard rock. A cross-pollinated and contrasting groove just like their native Brazil. Recorded on April 6th 2018 athe Marbrerie, Montreuil, Banlieues bleues festival Réalisation, Stéphan Jourdain

The William Parker Organ Quartet William Parker, doublebass Cooper-Moore, keyboard James Brandon Lewis, tenor saxophone Hamid Drake, drums The New York-based bass player is back with a groundbreaking organ quartet, and his music is more soul-based than ever - thrills are guaranteed! A former member of David S. Ware's and Cecil Taylor's bands, William Parker is, more than a sought-after sideman, a major jazz composer in his own right, constantly reinventing musical codes. The double bass player has made his mark as a leader capable of bringing together a number of loose electrons. Such is the case with this brilliant quartet: amazing drummer Hamid Drake, esoteric keyboard player Cooper-Moore and eclectic saxophonist James Brandon Lewis. Three fantastic partners, exploring a form of spiritual jazz that should touch us deep in our souls. Recorded on Marche 28th 2017 at the Dynamo of Banlieues Bleues, Pantin, as part of the 'Banlieues Bleues' Festival TV Director, Guillaume Dero

Danilo Perez, john Patitucci, Brian Blade Trio 'Children of the light' Danilo Pérez, piano John Patitucci, double bass Brian Blade, drums What a trio! These musicians have been the heart of the Wayne Shorter Quartet's formidable rhythm section for the past fifteen years: Danilo Pérez on piano, John Patitucci on bass, Brian Blade on drums. Each is of course a true master in his own right. And their reunion is an amazing gift to jazz lovers. The stylistic unity and level of communication never fail to impress. The three musicians know each other perfectly, as is apparent throughout the album, with a unique sense of narration. Pérez has rarely played so well, while Patitucci and Blade constantly experiment and innovate. Some of their compositions/improvisations can be very dense melodically and harmonically, but they also enjoy the beauty of a simple melody. A treat! Recorded on 2017, July 19th at the 1 Festival Jazz in Junas TV Director, Giuseppe de Vechi
