It is difficult not to come across him when you like jazz and its related music : we can hear him in the Supersonic by Thomas de Pourquery, alongside Camélia Jordana with Lost, with his rock group Poni Hoax, in the electro detours Sabrina & Samantha, and even at the heart of Limousine, with whom he released an excellent recording in the spring. L'Été suivant. Laurent Bardainne comes back today with this incredibly free quartet, entitled Tigre d'Eau Douce. Music which recalls Albert Ayler's Laments and John Coltrane's freeest hours, all of which is crisscrossed by ballads and soothing moments in the colours of Soul spirituality played out on the Hammond B3 organ by Arnaud Roulin. Naïssam Jalal Live at Banlieues Bleues 2017 Naïssam Jalal feat. Hamid Drake, Quest of invisible F. Naïssam Jalal, compositions, flute, nay Leonardo Montant, piano Claude Tchamitchian, bass Harmid Drake, battery, drums The flautist continues her search for meaning with a dream quartet to approach the mystical and spiritual side of jazz. From her early days, Naissam Jalal has been oscillating between the West, symbolized by the traverso she studied at the Conservatory, and the East, represented by the ney, which she studied with great masters in Damascus and Cairo. In residence at the Dynamo, she sets a new objective: to integrate improvised modal jazz with non-western traditions, like the Arab dhikr, the Indian raga, and Gnawa trance. A specialist of the genre, drummer and percussionist Hamid Drake immediately recognized in her the ability he himself acquired alongside Don Cherry and Pharoah Sanders. He is now part of the adventure. Recorded on 2017, March 28th at the Dynamo of Banlieues Bleues, Pantin, as part of the 'Banlieues Bleues' Festival TV Director, Gilles Le Mao

A former member of David S. Ware's and Cecil Taylor's bands, William Parker is, more than a sought-after sideman, a major jazz composer in his own right, constantly reinventing musical codes. The double bass player has made his mark as a leader capable of bringing together a number of loose electrons. Such is the case with this brilliant quartet: amazing drummer Hamid Drake, esoteric keyboard player Cooper-Moore and eclectic saxophonist James Brandon Lewis. Three fantastic partners, exploring a form of spiritual jazz that should touch us deep in our souls. Recorded on Marche 28th 2017 at the Dynamo of Banlieues Bleues, Pantin, as part of the 'Banlieues Bleues' Festival TV Director, Guillaume Dero

What is this thing called love ( 5 saxo) 'Bird with Strings' (1949) by Charlie Parker is a unique encounter between the world of jazz and classical music. Some of today's best saxophonists return to this repertoire, with new arrangements by Christophe Del Sasso. For the young producer Norman Granz, the signing of Charlie Parker on the Mercury label was a real success story. For several years the saxophonist had been toying with the idea of seizing the opportunity to record music outside his usual quintet. The project 'Charlie Parker with strings' was therefore for him an old dream that he was to bring to reality in 1949. With an oboe, a few violins, a viola, a cello, a harp, a piano, a double bass and drums, he was to give a new sound to the 1930's classics such as 'Just Friends' or 'April in Paris'. Jazz at the Philharmonie celebrates this superb encounter by bringing together Géraldine Laurent (Grand Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros 2015), Pierrick Pédron (Prix du disque français awarded by the Académie du jazz 2013) and Thomas de Pourquery (Artist of the Year at the Victoires du jazz 2017) on new arrangements by Christophe Dal Sasso. Recorded on January 27, 2019 at Pierre Boulez Hall, Philharmonie de Paris TV Director, Guiseppe De Vecchi

Over the past ten years and since his first solo album, the virtuoso pianist, who trained at the best music schools in Havana, has made a number of recordings exploring his influences as a classical pianist and his Cuban roots. He is back with a trio, his favourite format, including Senegalese bass player Alioune Wade and his brother on percussions. His remarkable style serves an open form of jazz, more mature and supremely inventive. World class. Recorded on 15 March 2017 at Espace 93, Clichy-sous-Bois, as part of the 'Banlieues Bleues' Festival TV director, Guillaume Dero

Liniker e os Caramelows Liniker Barros (lyric) Renata Essis (chorus) Eder Araujo (saxophone) Fernando Trz (keyboard) William Zaharanski (guitar) Rafael Barone (Bass) Péricles Zuanon (drums) Marja Lenski (percussion) Led by a transsexuel singer with knock out charisma, this is the soul sensation which has arrived from Brazil and which we haven't finished talking about. It is not for nothing that the group is called 'The Toffees'. Because they are soft, sweet, chewy, amusing, endearing. In less than three years , the Paulites have succeeded in exploding the YouTube audience assessment meters and conquered Brazil with their hybrid tropical soul which fits perfectly into the footsteps of a Tim Maia. Released in 2016, their first album 'Remonta' is a pure chef d'oeuvre of 'funzy', the style which they have created: a sort of languorous funk interspersed with explosions of hard rock. A cross-pollinated and contrasting groove just like their native Brazil. Recorded on April 6th 2018 athe Marbrerie, Montreuil, Banlieues bleues festival Réalisation, Stéphan Jourdain
