Éric Legnini Trio Éric Legnini Trio Eric Legnini (piano) Rocky Gresset (guitar) Thomas Bramerie (double bass) A foot-stomping jazz, touched by soul and by funk. Eric Legnini's recording tryptich, begun in 2006 with Miss Soul (then Big Boogaloo and Trippin'), marking the magnificent first steps of a leader for a pianist with a hyper-sophisticated bop language as early as the middle of the 1990's alongside the saxophonist Stefano Di Battista. Since then, the Belgian musician, settled in Paris has led an eclectic career, multiplied collaborations with vocalists (his friend Huge Coltman amngst others) and regularly puts on his producer's hat. In this 2019 season, Eric Legnini is coming back to the trio, but this time without drums : he will be accompanied by the guitarist Rocky Gresset (a reference on the Gypsy jazz scene) and by Thomas Bramerie (long-time touring partner and very probably the most sought after Parisian bass player) with whom he will present a completely new repertoire. Recorded on September 7, 2019 at the Pierre Boulez Hall - Philharmonie, Jazz à la Villette TV Director, Samuel Thibaut

John Scofield @ D'Jazz Nevers John Scofield, guitar Larry Golding, organ, piano Steve Swallow, electric bass Bill Stewart, drums Mr Fool (Darrell Edwards - George Jones - Herbie Treece) The Gambler (Don Schlitz) Jolene (Dolly Parton) Just a girl I used to know (Jack Clement) I'm lonesome I could cry (Hank Williams) You're still the one (Shania Twain - John Robert Lange) 'Sco' brilliantly continues his exploration of swing and country music. Brought into the limelight by Miles Davis in the 1980's, John Scofield explores all forms of jazz, including the blues, funk and country music. The American musician teams up with Steve Swallow, who now plays electric bass, and Bill Stewart on drums. John Scofield began playing the guitar as a teenager, discovered the standards of jazz before being drawn to jazz-rock and studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. In the 1970's, his career started as a side man with trumpeter and singer Chet Baker and pianist George Duke, among others. In the 1980's the general public discovered his swing, when he played for three years alongside the legendary Miles Davis. Later, Sco's brand of jazz fusion absorbed elements of soul and of the 'New Orleans Spirit', as he played with the greatest musicians of his generation, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Jim Hall. Recorded on November 12th at the festival D'Jazz Nevers (Nevers, France) - (Maison de la Culture, hall) TV Director, Samuel Thiebaut

Proud of its French past, its heart beats to the rhythm of jazz - the city even gave its name to a specific style of jazz. Director Samuel Petit follows Rusty Lazer, a DJ and producer of 'bounce music' - a local style of hip hop -, members of the legendary Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Trombone Shorty, a musician who has become a symbol of the city's new musical tradition. They tell of the scars of a community deeply wounded by hurricane Katrina and of the way its individual members try to overcome the trauma. Recorded on 2013

Shai Maestro 'The Stone Skipper' Shai Maestro, piano Ziv Ravitz, drums Jorge Roeder, doublebass Neli Andreeva, voice Playlist Composer, Shai Maestro A man, morning, street rain Without Words From one soul to another Pearl New river, new water Kunda Kuchka The Stone Skipper Water Colors Kalimankou Denkou A concert by Shai Maestro is always an unforgettable experience!
At the age of nineteen, Shai Maestro began his career with Avishai Cohen as an accompanist. After a few years performing all around the world, the time for independence came in 2011. Brought up on traditional music, classical and jazz, Shai Maestro polished his pianistic style and his skills as a composer. He also chose the best sidemen: Ziv Ravitz on drums (Lee Konitz, Esperanza Splading...) and Jorge Roeder on the double bass (Roy Haynes, Gary Burton, Julian Lage...). The trio is mesmerizing on record, magical on stage.
In concert or in the recording studio, a mysterious sacred fire sets the piano ablaze. Nothing faked or contrived here, Shai Maestro's trio goes straight to the point. Their exceptional presence, at time minimalistic, or dissonant and exuberant, touches and immediately wins over the audience. Recorded on December 6th 2016 at the Studio 104 of the Maison de la Radio - Paris. TV Director, Samuel Petit
