Hugh Coltman (voice) Frédéric Couderc (baritone clarinet) Jérôme Etcheberry (trumpet) Jerry Edwards (trombone) Didier Havet (soubassophone) Freddy Koella (guitar) Gael Rakotondrabe (piano) Raphael Chassin (drums) Heard in the company of the pianist Eric Legnini on an album where he was simply a guest, Hugh Coltman rapidly broke the barrier of confidentiality to gain access to the the antechamber of notoriety. His latest hour of glory (for the time being), was his allegorical project based on the repertoire of Nat King Cole, the historic crooner and pianist. The voice of this Brit possesses that full masculinity which characterises his dedicatee, but it carries with it a bit of spleen, a sort of Baudelairian charm which the language of Shakespeare makes even more palpable...A confirmation eagerly awaited in Marciac this summer with his new album 'Who's happy?'. With drums which dance just like in one of those legendary burials in New Orleans, brass saturated with soul, guitars mixing up all the blues and all the folk... Hugh Coltman treated himself to a sublime backdrop for eleven songs in which his warm 'been through it all' voice can be heard. He is a conoisseur in human emotions, always charitable towards the evening's lover, the lost soul at dawn or the forlorn in the blazing sunshine. Recorded at Jazz in Marciac Festival (Circus top), on July 31, 2018 TV Director, Jean-Marc Birraux

Gregory Porter at the International Jazz Festival of Montréal 2016 Gregory Porter's musical awakening came upon hearing his mother's Nat King Cole records as a child - Porter would later write a show in homage to the singer. After seeing his dreams of professional football thwarted by a major injury, the California-born artist turned to music. With the help of his mentor, the multi-instrumentalist and composer Kamau Kenyatta, Porter honed his skills in San Diego jazz clubs before landing a role in the musical It Ain't Nothing But the Blues. His resume also includes a collaboration with famed flutist Hubert Laws. A gifted songwriter, he penned most of the jazz and soul-oriented material appearing on his first albums, Water (2010), Be Good (2012) and Liquid Spirit (2013), winner of a Grammy for Best jazz vocal album. Shai Maestro 'The Stone Skipper' Shai Maestro, piano Ziv Ravitz, drums Jorge Roeder, doublebass Neli Andreeva, voice Playlist Composer, Shai Maestro A man, morning, street rain Without Words From one soul to another Pearl New river, new water Kunda Kuchka The Stone Skipper Water Colors Kalimankou Denkou A concert by Shai Maestro is always an unforgettable experience!
At the age of nineteen, Shai Maestro began his career with Avishai Cohen as an accompanist. After a few years performing all around the world, the time for independence came in 2011. Brought up on traditional music, classical and jazz, Shai Maestro polished his pianistic style and his skills as a composer. He also chose the best sidemen: Ziv Ravitz on drums (Lee Konitz, Esperanza Splading...) and Jorge Roeder on the double bass (Roy Haynes, Gary Burton, Julian Lage...). The trio is mesmerizing on record, magical on stage.
In concert or in the recording studio, a mysterious sacred fire sets the piano ablaze. Nothing faked or contrived here, Shai Maestro's trio goes straight to the point. Their exceptional presence, at time minimalistic, or dissonant and exuberant, touches and immediately wins over the audience. Recorded on December 6th 2016 at the Studio 104 of the Maison de la Radio - Paris. TV Director, Samuel Petit
