José James José James (voice, guitar) Marcus Machado (guitar) Aneesa Strings (bass, voice) Aaron Steele (drums) Since bursting onto the international scene a little over a decade ago, José James and his honey-sweet voice are still as bewitching. The Minneapolis artist admits to being inspired by Marvin Gaye, the producer Flying Lotus and John Coltrane for his stylish blend of what makes up Great Black Music. Flitting between raw soul, soul folk, hip hop and jazz, James is in the microcosm of vocalists capable of keeping the crossover created by Ray Charles in the 50s alive. His first album (The Dreamer, 2008) pays tribute to Martin Luther King. The next one, Blackmagic, features the beatboxer Taylor McFerrin. His fourth album (in the meantime he recorded with Junior Mance, Chico Hamilton, Flying Lotus and the pianist Jef Neve), No Beginning No End, is on Blue Note. The more soulful than ever singer is back with Lean On Me (2018). After leaning on Billie Holiday and John Coltrane, this time he pays tribute to the living legend of American pop and the immense soulman Bill Withers. There are twelve unforgettable tracks by Withers, who celebrates his 80th birthday in July, produced by Don Was and recorded by a dream band: bassist Pino Palladino, Kris Bowers (fabulous Rhodes on the cover of Ain't No Sunshine), Brad Allen Williams and Nate Smith. Recorded on July 02, 2019 at Jazz à Vienne TV Director, Mikaël Favard

Juan Carmona Septet Juan Carmona (guitar, composition) Piculabe (Voice) Noemie Humanes (Voice), Gest dancer, Paco Carmona (guitar), Domingo Patricio (flute), Kike Terron (percussions), El Bachi (bass) Juan Carmona is one of a kind in modern flamenco. A French gypsy of Andalusian origin, born in Lyon (in 1963), loyal to the Aubagne region where he plays out his passion (and where he runs the Nuits Flamencas festival), the guitarist has won countless prizes and awards and is renowned in Spain and around the world. Carmona spent ten years living in Jerez de la Frontera in Andalusia to gain in-depth knowledge of the flamenco culture. Whilst there he performed with singers such as Agujetas and Duquende and recorded with Chano Domínguez, the Cadix pianist, among others. The Frenchman's rich array of sounds, ingenious compositions, pure instrumentals and, most importantly, his talent for improvisation in this harmonic jazz-heavy piece, makes him one of the most respected guitarists in the last 30 years. Alchemya (2013) is still a flamboyant self-portrait of a record blending flamenco with jazz fusion. With his 35 guest cadors, Juan Carmona also gives us a great lesson in the art of hospitality. The borderless musician returned from an Asian tour with Perla de Oriente in 2016 with an album recorded live in the studio. A new travel journal in which the gypsy wanders the duende paths alongside El Piculabe's raspy melismas. Recorded on July 03, 2019 at Jazz à Vienne TV Director, MFabien Raymond

For its first performance (1864) Rossini arranged the work with only two pianos and harmonium. Partly for fear that it would be done anyway after his death, Rossini discreetly orchestrated the Petite Messe Solennelle during 1866-67, without losing its candor and subtlety. The resulting version had its first public performance on 28 February 1869, three months after the composer's death. Directed by Michael Beyer Recorded on 2008 at the Leipzig Gewandhaus

Unanimously praised by the critics, this young trio, whose jazz can be at once rhythmical and ethereal, pushes boundaries even further in this new encounter with what could be termed 'sign-song '. Shai Maestro 'The Stone Skipper' Shai Maestro, piano Ziv Ravitz, drums Jorge Roeder, doublebass Neli Andreeva, voice Playlist Composer, Shai Maestro A man, morning, street rain Without Words From one soul to another Pearl New river, new water Kunda Kuchka The Stone Skipper Water Colors Kalimankou Denkou A concert by Shai Maestro is always an unforgettable experience!
At the age of nineteen, Shai Maestro began his career with Avishai Cohen as an accompanist. After a few years performing all around the world, the time for independence came in 2011. Brought up on traditional music, classical and jazz, Shai Maestro polished his pianistic style and his skills as a composer. He also chose the best sidemen: Ziv Ravitz on drums (Lee Konitz, Esperanza Splading...) and Jorge Roeder on the double bass (Roy Haynes, Gary Burton, Julian Lage...). The trio is mesmerizing on record, magical on stage.
In concert or in the recording studio, a mysterious sacred fire sets the piano ablaze. Nothing faked or contrived here, Shai Maestro's trio goes straight to the point. Their exceptional presence, at time minimalistic, or dissonant and exuberant, touches and immediately wins over the audience. Recorded on December 6th 2016 at the Studio 104 of the Maison de la Radio - Paris. TV Director, Samuel Petit

Mike Stern (guitar) Niels Lan Doky (piano) Richard Bona (bass) Manu Katché (drums) The Cameroonian international artist Richard Bona at first became known as a bass player in the company of jazz musicians before beginning a career as a singer and composer in 1999. He interprets his own songs and now has more than half a dozen albums under his belt. Jazz Grand Prix winner of the SACEM, Richard Bona never cheats, but then, he doesn't need to. For those who may be unaware, Mike Stern is one of the greatest jazz-rock guitarists, and has been for more than twenty years now. Pupil of Pat Metheny, he was at first spotted by Billy Cobham and then by Miles Davis at the beginning of the 1980's, he was then taken on by Jaco Pastorius and an active member of 'Steps Ahead' with Danny Sanborn before starting out on a promising solo career . The drummer and percussionist Manu Katché has been for some thirty years one of the most sought after musicians at an international level on the jazz, rock and pop scenes. He became known in 1986 thanks to his participation in the album 'So' by Peter Gabriel and since then has been performing non-stop in groups or for recordings, as leader or as sideman.
