João Bosco, lead, guitar/vocals Ricardo Silveira, guitar Guto Wirtti, bass Kiko Freitas, drums João Bosco has been loved in his home country of Brazil for decades, since the 60s when he first began composing and performing. In the early 90s, Bosco mounted a major tour of the US, and since then he has become increasingly popular internationally, regularly performing at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. Despite his growing popularity outside of his homeland, Bosco remains thoroughly attached to Brazil to the point of never leaving it for extended periods; his music, though rooted in Brazil's classic samba and bossa nova traditions, combines rock and roll, jazz and other ethnic styles in an eclectic brew that is as inventive and challenging as he is. In 2017 Bosco received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Latin Recording Academy at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. His new album, Mano Que Zuera, was released at the end of the year. Recorded on July 21, 2018 at the Malta Jazz Festival TV Director, Amos Rozenberg

For this unmissable concert in Paris, he is joined by two exceptional pianists, his nineteen-year-old daughter Geri Allen, already known as a leader (with Paul Motian and Charlie Haden) and as a sideman in Steve Coleman's Five Elements, and Craig Taborn who, at forty-seven, has become one of the most thought-provoking and progressive members of the New York avant-garde. Mzwandile (Shabaka Hutchings, Siyabonga Mthembu) . Chik CHIkka (Lykaty Astatke) Refocusing jazz could be Shabaka Hutchings' mantra. The tenor saxophonist recently went to Johannesburg to soak up South African heritage and to surround himself with the country's best musicians. It led to a celebratory, spiritual sound on the vibrant Wisdom of Elders, recorded in just one day in Johannesburg. The music composed by the saxophonist is primitive, spontaneous, and unpredictable. It's infused with drummer Tumi Mogoros's polyrhythmic beats and the hypnotic sounds of singer Siyabonga Mthembu. British Shabaka Hutchings has Barbadian roots. He's been recognized as a key player on the London jazz scene for a few years now. He got noticed when he brought African and Caribbean sounds to Sons Of Kemet and by playing with the electro-cosmic sounds of The Comet Is Coming. Enregistré le 12 juillet 2017 au Montreux Jazz Festival (Montreux Jazz Club) Réalisation, Marc Schütrumpf
