SOUND PRINTS Joe Lovano, saxophones; Dave Douglas, trumpet; Lawrence Fields, piano; Linda Oh, double bass; Joey Baron, drums. Joe Lovano and Dave Douglas are two one-of-a-kind world-class saxophonist and trumpeter. They both possess very strong personalities that produce vital and elegant music marked by virtuoso pieces that nonetheless sound very new and expressive, while at the same time displaying strong ties to the whole jazz tradition. This outstanding duo will pay an enthusiastic and fascinating tribute to Wayne Shorter, great composer and undisputed genius of the saxophone. Lovano and Douglas will bring to the stage some of Shorter's compositions that they have exclusively arranged for this project, as well as original songs. The result is a musical wonder, in which sounds from the past meet both the present and the future. The extravagant quality of their jazz will surprise you for its complexity, sophistication, but also for its emotional drive. Auditorium Parco della Musica - Rome

Emile Parisien et Vincent Peirani File under Zawinul Emile Parisien, Saxophone soprano Vincent Peirani, Accordion Manu Codjia, Guitar Paco Séry,Drums Linley Marthe, Bass Mino Cinelu, Percussion Aziz Samahoui, Vocal, percussion Tony Paeleman, Fender Rhodes 2017 is the 10th anniversary of Joe Zawinul's death, the high priest of jazz keyboardists. A fitting and powerful tribute to him comes from saxophonist Emile Parisien and partner in crime Vincent Peirani on the accordion. The two Frenchmen have brought their fellow Austrian 'groove' explorers on board: Paco Sery and Linley Marthe, respectively drummer and bassist in the Zawinul Syndicate (his last group) and West Indian percussionist Mino Cinelu who performed on the last albums for the game-changing Weather Report. The idea behind the File Under Zawinul project came from saxophonist Emile Parisien's time with the Syndicate, a band formed in tribute to the Viennese pianist. Parisien met the vibrant guitarist Manu Codjia and sound architect Tony Paeleman on his Fender Rhodes at the Syndicate who are both to join File Under Zawinul. The Moroccan singer and percussionist Aziz Samahoui who performed with Joe for over 10 years will also be part of the international all-star Zawinul line-up. Guillaume Perret Guillaume Perret, saxophone, machines The saxophonist from Annecy (born in 1980) racked up the pressure on the contemporary jazz scene (from 2009) with his group The Electric Epic. Three years later and John Zorn himself described it as 'a whirlwind of emotion' and released the extravert, panoramic and electric fusion on his Tzadik record label. It was an explosion of sound with funky beats and quirky harmonies blending metal, electro, Africa, psychedelia and the hot wind of free style. After two incredible albums with Electric Epic, Guillaume Perret is going it alone with his new album Free (2016). Perret's sense of solitude is comparable to Deleuze's opening to Mille Plateaux: 'Since there were many of all of us, there were already too many people.' You can spot the almost symphonic ramped-up saxophone and the deafening rhythmic loops that make Guillaume Perret multiple, all-encompassing and so spectacular. Recorded on 2017, July 13th at the Jazz Festival in Vienne TV Director, Nicolas Micha

At the age of 3, little Chucho was already playing melodies he heard on the radio by ear with both hands in all kinds of tones. Chucho played in the famous Cuban band Irakere (1973-2005). He was also the band's founder, composer and arranger. Irakere combined traditional Afro-Cuban music, jazz, rock and classical music.
