Amaury faye Trio Amaury Faye, piano Louis Navarro, double bass Théo Lanau, percussion In keeping with the big piano trios and Big Moe Trio (in 2010), perfected from his Toulouse kingdom, the new project from Amaury Faye tells his story. He takes inspiration from artists on the contemporary New York scene and the latest trends in European jazz. Amaury Faye went to study at Berklee College in Boston with pianist Joanne Brackeen (Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon) and Tia Fuller (Joe Lovano) in 2014. The pianist is a member of the Toulouse-based Initiative H alongside his trio. Their repertoire includes original tracks and cool covers. There's a blend of improvisation and writing, virtuosity and finesse, lyricism and undulating beats (e.g. on the Fender Rhodes). Faye is one to watch on the international piano scene and famous for his talents as both a soloist and composer. Amaury Faye, Louis Navarro and Théo Lanau put the heritage of the past into fuelling the future. Recorded on 2017, July 13th at the Jazz Festival in Vienne TV Director, Nicolas Micha

Magnetic Ensemble @ D'Jazz Nevers Antonin Leymarie, artistic direction, composition, drums Benjamin Flament, treated metallic percussions, vibraphone Sylvain Lemêtre, digital and orchestral percussions Linda Olah, voice Fabrizio Rat, prepared piano Adrien Spirli, bass synthesizer Adrian'Aladin' Bourget, sound designer Thomas Veyssière, scenoraphy, lights Guest François Corneloup, saxophone In my heart (Antonin Leymarie) Victory (Antonin Leymarie, Marine Pellegrini) S'abaisse (Antonin Leymarie) Butterfly (Antonin Leymarie) La Fabuleuse (Antonin Leymarie) Dancing Alone (Antonin Leymarie) What to you call a birthday party that doesn't end on the dance floor? A fiasco! No danger of this with the Magnetic Ensemble. They turned the Maison de la Culture into a proper dance floor. No beatbox for Antonin Leymarie's quintet. Why use one when you can do so much better yourself? Techno has not been very popular with jazzmen, largely for its lack of flexibility (a rigid tempo, a uniformity of sound). The Magnetic Ensemble picks up the challenge and demonstrates brilliantly that techno can be human, very human. Prepare yourself for a technoid trance, slow, progressive, polyrhythmic, irresistible, wild, frenzied. This music is made for movement! Recorded on November 12th at the festival D'Jazz Nevers (Nevers, France) - (Maison de la Culture, hall) TV Director, Samuel Thiebaut

NORMA WINSTONE TRIO & EMILY REMEMBERED LIVE AT THE EFG LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL Since emerging on the London jazz scene in 1966 with an engagement at Ronnie Scott's Club, Norma Winstone has worked with many of the innovators on the British and European scene. Her unique voice could be said to define an entire era of British and European Jazz, from re-inventions of The Great American Songbook to more abstract excursions into vocal timbre. She recorded five albums for the iconic German record label ECM with the group Azimuth, with John Taylor and Kenny Wheeler. Her own album for ECM, Somewhere Called Home with John Taylor and saxophonist/clarinettist Tony Coe, has become a classic vocal album, and her latest album Dance without Answer was released on ECM in 2013.

LAU + BUGGE WESSELTOFT, HENRIK SCHWARZ, DAN BERGLUND AT THE EFG LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL Bugge Wesseltoft - Norwegian pioneer of a new conception of jazz - and German electronica hero, producer and DJ Henrik Schwarz tackle the boundaries of jazz and house from both sides of the spectrum. Joined by Dan Berglund, bassist with the seminal EST and now an established bandleader in his own right, the pan-euro trio marks the release of a new recording for Jazzland, performing together for the first time in London.
