Erik Truffaz (trumpet) Marcello Giuliani (bass) Benoît Corboz piano (Fender Rhodes) Marc Erbetta (drums) With special guests Nya (voice) Guillaume Perret (saxophone) The trumpet player of Swiss origin, Erik Truffaz,is one of the first European jazzmen to have successfully approached drum'n'bass. In 1991 he founded a quartet which today is composed of Benoît Corboz (keyboards), Marcello Giuliani (bass) and Marc Erbetta (drums and percussion),he explores electronic jazz-fusion much in the same way as Miles Davis and recorded several albums starting from 1994. After an incursion into into rock at the head of his Ladybird Quartet created in 2001, he returned to the formula which had made him successful. In his world, always deeply influenced by Miles Davis, the stridencies of rock alternate with the poetic respites, the rousing grooves with more calm ballads. Recorded at Jazz in Marciac Festival (Circus top), on August 6, 2018 TV Director, Jean-Marc Birraux

Avishai Cohen quartet @ D'Jazz Nevers Avishai Cohen, trumpet Yonathan Avisahi, piano Yoni Zelnik, bass Jonathan Black, drums Dream Like a child, Into the Silence Quiescence Behind the broken glass Bill Evans has two incarnations, as a pianist and a saxophonist. So has Avishai Cohen, a bass player and, tonight, a trumpeter. His musical friendships are long standing. For a decade now, he has been playing with pianist Yonathan Avishai, and hooked up with Nasheet Waits as soon as he arrived in New York from Israel in the 90's. His beard may be on the wild side, but his sound on the trumpet is one of the purest you can hear today. His first album for ECM, 'Into the Silence', was composed six months after Cohen's father died. 'Into the Silence' is about absence, a pregnant silence, deeply intimate, which does not preclude a sense of revolt, rich with vital energy. On four consecutive years, Cohen was voted 'Rising Star' in the 'trumpeter' category by DownBeat, the reference American jazz magazine. An absolute must. Recorded on November 11th at the festival D'Jazz Nevers (Nevers, France) - (Maison de la Culture, Philippe Genty hall) TV Director, Samuel Thiebaut

DAN TEPFER LIVE AT THE EFG LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL The hugely talented young pianist Dan Tepfer makes his solo London debut in the lustrous acoustic of the Wigmore Hall, performing his much admired interpretation of J.S. Bach's masterpiece, with the original music complemented by Tepfer's own improvised response. Tepfer's duet with the veteran saxophonist Lee Konitz was a highlight of the 2013 Jazz Festival, his lightning-fast reactions to the jazz master's unpredictably fascinating twists and turns proving a revelation. Already the recipient of multiple awards, his mix of the gorgeous and the vivacious, lyricism balanced with swing is the signature of an emerging jazz star.
