Michel Meis 4tet Michel Meis, drums+ compositions Cédric Hanriot, piano Stephan Goldbach, double bass Alisa Klein, trombone Born in Luxembourg Michel Meis made his first experience with the drums at the early age of 7 at the Conservatory of Luxembourg, Luxembourg City. After finishing his diploma's in Chamber Music, Classical Percussion and Jazz drums in 2014 with the teachers Guy Frisch, Paul Mootz, Rainer Kind and Al Ginter, Michel entered the Jazz section of the 'Hochschule für Musik Saar' doing his Bachelor in Jazz drums. Since 2011, Michel is also a member of the Luxembourg Military Band and has played in several Jazz-clubs and festivals like the Hong Kong Jazz Festival, Beishan Jazz Festival, Sibiu Jazz Festival, Fête de la Musique Liege and the Brussels Jazz Marathon. Michel is a drummer with ' Everwaiting Serenade ', Dock in Absolute, Juan Gonzalez Trio. He also played drums for The Grund Club Voices and the Grund Club Quartet in 2015 and 2016. Their first record 'Lost in translation' will feature 7 original tunes and a cover of 'Heaven' by Depeche Mode. This album will be relased on January 2019 , on Double Moon Records. In the early 90s, Bosco mounted a major tour of the US, and since then he has become increasingly popular internationally, regularly performing at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. Despite his growing popularity outside of his homeland, Bosco remains thoroughly attached to Brazil to the point of never leaving it for extended periods; his music, though rooted in Brazil's classic samba and bossa nova traditions, combines rock and roll, jazz and other ethnic styles in an eclectic brew that is as inventive and challenging as he is. Alonzo King is a great admirer of classical ballet, in which he sees a wonderful science of movement. To this virtuoso technique, he brings a physical, muscular sensuality, an almost feline fluidity refined to the point of pure esthetic pleasure. Meyer, his last creation, was premiered on the 30th anniversary of the company. Written in collaboration with American composer and bass player Edgar Meyer, the music brings purpose and rhythm to bodies and movement. Writing Ground draws its inspiration from the words of writer Colum McCann. In this piece, Alonzo King explores the wealth of traditional music from the Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Tibetan traditions. His choreography becomes a language, at once poetic and electrifying. The music and some of the melodies were written by League, demoed while on tour with other bands, and then sent to Tirolien with lyrical concepts attached. Tirolien then wrote lyrics and melodies, demoing and ping-ponging the new content back to Michael. Many of the musicians had never even met until the first day of recording. By the end of the week-long session in upstate New York's legendary Dreamland Studios, the band felt abnormally cohesive. 'Unity was paramount in the formation of this group,' observed League. 'Though the ensemble is multi-lingual, multi-cultural, and multi-generational, we all feel connected as musicians and people. And in combining our different accents I feel that there is a strangely common and poignant sound, one that can reach and relate to listeners around the world.' Michel Meis 4tet Michel Meis, drums+ compositions Cédric Hanriot, piano Stephan Goldbach, double bass Alisa Klein, trombone Born in Luxembourg Michel Meis made his first experience with the drums at the early age of 7 at the Conservatory of Luxembourg, Luxembourg City. After finishing his diploma's in Chamber Music, Classical Percussion and Jazz drums in 2014 with the teachers Guy Frisch, Paul Mootz, Rainer Kind and Al Ginter, Michel entered the Jazz section of the 'Hochschule für Musik Saar' doing his Bachelor in Jazz drums. Since 2011, Michel is also a member of the Luxembourg Military Band and has played in several Jazz-clubs and festivals like the Hong Kong Jazz Festival, Beishan Jazz Festival, Sibiu Jazz Festival, Fête de la Musique Liege and the Brussels Jazz Marathon. Michel is a drummer with ' Everwaiting Serenade ', Dock in Absolute, Juan Gonzalez Trio. He also played drums for The Grund Club Voices and the Grund Club Quartet in 2015 and 2016. Their first record 'Lost in translation' will feature 7 original tunes and a cover of 'Heaven' by Depeche Mode. This album will be relased on January 2019 , on Double Moon Records.
