He storms off, and runs into some children, from whom he learns of the possible existence of a Traveler’s Tree. Unfortunately, the tree is on the highest, coldest peak, and is supposedly guarded by a fierce beast named Krag. Cole strikes off on his own to try and find the tree and quickly runs into Uthaug and Boma, two Ice Fishers whom he rescues from a near-catastrophic fall. They reiterate the story of Krag and warn Cole to turn back but Cole is adamant. Despite their warnings, he continues and finds an icy ravine crossed by a thin bridge of snow. As he makes his way over the snow-bridge, he hears a frightening roar and finds himself seemingly attacked by Krag! Back in the village, Uthaug and Boma tell Nya, Kai and Jay that Cole is in trouble… just as a frightening bestial roar echoes down the mountain!

This time, Cole wins and Krag is imprisoned. Cole runs for the mouth of the cave… where he stumbles upon an icy cavern full of burial mounds. Realizing that Krag once had a family and that the beast is lonely, and wasn’t trying to attack him but save him, Cole returns and releases Krag. The two become friends. Despite the fact that Krag and Cole does not speak the same language, Cole is able to convey that he is looking for the Traveler’s Tree. Krag carries Cole on his back up a steep cliff and delivers him to the peak where Cole finds the magical Traveler’s Tree! He plucks some leaves and they return to the cavern where Nya and Jay lie in wait. The ninja attack Krag, assuming the creature has imprisoned Cole. Cole intervenes at the last moment and explains the truth: Krag is his friend.

At the same time, the Ice Emperor also conjures forth, Boreal, the Forbidden Ice Dragon, to destroy the village which survived his first attack. Lloyd manages to defeat the Ice Behemoth by leaving it at the bottom of a frozen lake, but the fight is costly and Red is injured. Lloyd bandages the wolf’s injured paw and tries to keep the animal warm during the night. He awakens the following morning to find a young girl in place of the wolf! Lloyd discovers that “Red†is actually a Formling named Akita, who can transform at will into a wolf.

She and her twin-brother venture into the wilds to find their animal forms. After many days spent meditating, Akita receives a vision and chases a red and white spirit wolf through the clouds. She eventually catches the wolf and is rewarded with her animal form: a wolf! Her brother, Kataru, is given the form of a bear. The siblings enjoy their animal forms, running and leaping through the woods, before eventually heading back to the village.

Unfortunately, their newfound hopes are crushed when they see Boreal fly past in the direction of the village. They return too late to stop a devastating attack. The entire village of Ice Fishers is frozen solid, including Sorla, Uthaug and Boma. Devastated that they were not there to defend the village, the ninja decide to try and locate the wreckage of the Land Bounty and go after Lloyd. Elsewhere, Lloyd and Akita continue their trek across the ice and arrive finally at the Emperor’s Ice Castle. As they are about to approach, they are spotted by Boreal, returning from his attack on the village. The dragon seizes hold of Lloyd’s Mech and a desperate aerial battle ensues.

They finally arrive only to see that the pyramid is surrounded by lava. Preparing to face the end, the ninja are finally reunited as a team. At the last moment, however, Pixal arrives and whisks the ninja to safety.

Bentley goes to sleep a happy dog only for him to be visited by three ghosts of past present and future who will show him the errors of his ways and what is to become if he doesn’t change. However unbeknownst to Bentley it is Taffy Mish and Mash who are secretly behind the plot.

They want for nothing – unlike the down-on-his-luck trash-eating raccoon, who spends his days jealously gazing at the constant food deliveries to the Manor. Eventually it becomes too much for the little scavenger, and he gets an idea – he’ll disguise himself as an adorable kitty cat and infiltrate the manor, where it’ll be a never-ending buffet! Believe it or not - thanks to a snazzy bow, and an adorable little ‘meow’, his insane plan works. Mrs. Muchmore names him ‘Taffy’ and showers the ‘cat’ with the kind of cuddling that her dog could only dream of. Bentley the dog is no dummy, though – he knows that Taffy’s a raccoon, and will stop at nothing to take down the intruder by exposing him as the dirty rodent he is! They talk, they laugh, they shout and throw barbs at each other, but all Mrs. Muchmore and other humans can hear are innocent mewing and barking.
