Deca Dance Choreography, Ohad Naharin Dancers of the Batsheva Dance Company Lights, Avi Yona Bueno (Bambi) Costumes, Rakefet Levi (except Seder Sharon Eyal) Designed for the first time in 2000, the program then celebrated the 10 years worth of creations of Ohad Naharin with the company, offering a striking collage of excerpts from his work. The piece has been steadily reworked and enhanced, and now gives the Israeli choreographer a chance to display his various inspirations - from the most demonstrative movement to very intimate expression - as well as to interrogate the key elements of his work. More than a collection of selected works, it is a genuine recreation whose repertoire provides continuously revisited material. Shabaka and the Ancestors Shabaka Hutchings, saxophone, tenor Hutchings was born in 1984 in London. He moved to Barbados at the age of six, began studying classical clarinet aged nine and remained until sixteen. Shabaka's primary project is the group Sons of Kemet, which won the 2013 MOBO Award for Jazz Act of the Year. In June 2014 Shabaka was invited to join the Sun Ra Arkestra, performing with them and recording a session for BBC Radio 3. He has performed and recorded with Courtney Pine's Jazz Warriors, Mulatu Astatke and the Heliocentrics, Polar Bear and Soweto Kinch. Some of the many notable musicians he has shared the stage with include Jack DeJohnette, Charlie Haden and the Liberation Music Orchestra, Louis Moholo, Evan Parker, King Sunny Ade and Orlando Julius to name a few. Donny McCaslin Donny McCaslin, saphoxone according to the album 'Beyond Now' Donny McCaslin is a tenor sax player. Influenced by his father, pianist and vibraphonist, he starts playing saxophone at the age of 12. After stopping by Berklee College of Music of Boston, he joins a quintet of a teacher from his school, Gary Burton, with whom he will tour for a few years. He moves to New York in 1991 and joins the band Steps Ahead. He will play with several more important music ensembles such as the Ken Schaphorst's big band or the Maria Schneider Ahead. In 2005, he joins trumpeter Dave Douglas'quintet. In 2010, he explores for the first time electric, funk, R&B and soul music. Moreover, David Bowie chose Mc Caslin's band to support his very last album Blackstar. In the past years, he was three times nominated for Grammys Awards. Amaury faye Trio Amaury Faye, piano Louis Navarro, double bass Théo Lanau, percussion In keeping with the big piano trios and Big Moe Trio (in 2010), perfected from his Toulouse kingdom, the new project from Amaury Faye tells his story. He takes inspiration from artists on the contemporary New York scene and the latest trends in European jazz. Amaury Faye went to study at Berklee College in Boston with pianist Joanne Brackeen (Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon) and Tia Fuller (Joe Lovano) in 2014. The pianist is a member of the Toulouse-based Initiative H alongside his trio. Their repertoire includes original tracks and cool covers. There's a blend of improvisation and writing, virtuosity and finesse, lyricism and undulating beats (e.g. on the Fender Rhodes). Faye is one to watch on the international piano scene and famous for his talents as both a soloist and composer. Amaury faye Trio Amaury Faye, piano Louis Navarro, double bass Théo Lanau, percussion In keeping with the big piano trios and Big Moe Trio (in 2010), perfected from his Toulouse kingdom, the new project from Amaury Faye tells his story. He takes inspiration from artists on the contemporary New York scene and the latest trends in European jazz. Amaury Faye went to study at Berklee College in Boston with pianist Joanne Brackeen (Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon) and Tia Fuller (Joe Lovano) in 2014. The pianist is a member of the Toulouse-based Initiative H alongside his trio. Their repertoire includes original tracks and cool covers. There's a blend of improvisation and writing, virtuosity and finesse, lyricism and undulating beats (e.g. on the Fender Rhodes). Faye is one to watch on the international piano scene and famous for his talents as both a soloist and composer. Shabaka and the Ancestors Shabaka Hutchings, saxophone, tenor Hutchings was born in 1984 in London. He moved to Barbados at the age of six, began studying classical clarinet aged nine and remained until sixteen. Shabaka's primary project is the group Sons of Kemet, which won the 2013 MOBO Award for Jazz Act of the Year. In June 2014 Shabaka was invited to join the Sun Ra Arkestra, performing with them and recording a session for BBC Radio 3. He has performed and recorded with Courtney Pine's Jazz Warriors, Mulatu Astatke and the Heliocentrics, Polar Bear and Soweto Kinch. Some of the many notable musicians he has shared the stage with include Jack DeJohnette, Charlie Haden and the Liberation Music Orchestra, Louis Moholo, Evan Parker, King Sunny Ade and Orlando Julius to name a few. Donny McCaslin Donny McCaslin, saphoxone according to the album 'Beyond Now' Donny McCaslin is a tenor sax player. Influenced by his father, pianist and vibraphonist, he starts playing saxophone at the age of 12. After stopping by Berklee College of Music of Boston, he joins a quintet of a teacher from his school, Gary Burton, with whom he will tour for a few years. He moves to New York in 1991 and joins the band Steps Ahead. He will play with several more important music ensembles such as the Ken Schaphorst's big band or the Maria Schneider Ahead. In 2005, he joins trumpeter Dave Douglas'quintet. In 2010, he explores for the first time electric, funk, R&B and soul music. Moreover, David Bowie chose Mc Caslin's band to support his very last album Blackstar. In the past years, he was three times nominated for Grammys Awards. New Orleans, Street Jazz & Dirty Rap Documentary by Samuel Petit New Orleans is like no other city in the United States. Proud of its French past, its heart beats to the rhythm of jazz - the city even gave its name to a specific style of jazz. Director Samuel Petit follows Rusty Lazer, a DJ and producer of 'bounce music' - a local style of hip hop -, members of the legendary Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and Trombone Shorty, a musician who has become a symbol of the city's new musical tradition. Depuis ses débuts (dans l'ONJ de Daniel Yvinec), Antonin Tri Hoang n'est pas sans évoquer Ornette : même lyrisme tarabiscoté, même goût du dérapage contrôlé. Au lieu d'une dissertation sur l'œuvre, il a proposé des rêves, des ponts évocateurs, ' pas un revival, mais un survival '.
