Stéphane Kerecki - French Touch Stéphane Kerecki, double bass Julien Lourau, saxophone Fabrice Moreau, drums Jozef Dumoulin, piano, Fender Rhodes Stéphane Kerecki made a name for himself by playing with Daniel Humair, Sheila Jordan, Michel Portal, Jacky Terrasson. He is leading his own trio, with saxophonist Matthieu Donarier and drummer Thomas Grimmonprez. His recordings received many awards, including the Grand Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros, Disque d'Emoi de l'année 2007 (Jazz Magazine), Choc du Monde de la Musique a.o. Kerecki's most ambitious project to date, ' Nouvelle Vague ', an homage to the movies of Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut, Louis Malle, Jacques Demy, and the music it generated, features re-adapted works by Miles Davis, Martial Solal, Georges Delerue, Antoine Duhamel and Michel Legrand. His new project 'French Touch' explores the influence of contemporary French popular music, made by groups like Air, Daft Punk, Motorbass, Kavinsky and Phoenix, on today's music scene worldwide. Golden Striker Trio Ronald L. Carter (bass guitar ) Russel L. Malone (guitar) Donald Vega (piano) A hugely talented double bassist, gifted with a remarkable sense of melody and widely recognised for the finesse and elegance of his playing style, the American Ron Carter is a living legend. A musician of genius, he started out playing with Gil Evans, Lena Horne, Bill Evans, B.B. King, Dexter Gordon, Wes Montgomery, Eric Dolphy and Bobby Timmons. He then went on to win fame alongside Cannonball Adderley and Thelonious Monk and, of course, from 1963 to 1968, in the famous quintet formed by Miles Davis. Closer to us in time, Ron Carter became a respected musical leader in his own right in the Golden Striker Trio with Russell Malone and Mulgrew Miller ('Golden Striker' album, 2003) and opted, like Ray Brown towards the end of his life, for the legendary trio of piano/guitar/bass, first used by Nat King Cole and Art Tatum. This classical tradition is fully assumed by Miles' former bassist. In concert, the emotion often reaches a climax with one of his favourite songs, the standard 'My Funny Valentine'. A native of Michigan (born in 1937), Ron Carter won a Grammy Award in 1998 for the instrumental 'Call Sheet Blues' from the soundtrack of the film 'Round Midnight'. In 2010, he was made a Commander in the Order of Arts and Letters in France. Last year, his virtuoso association with the accordionist Richard Galliano enjoyed great success in France. A musical sense forged with tungsten, like the strings on his bass, and with all his elegance and freshness intact, the legend is back. João Bosco, lead, guitar/vocals Ricardo Silveira, guitar Guto Wirtti, bass Kiko Freitas, drums João Bosco has been loved in his home country of Brazil for decades, since the 60s when he first began composing and performing. In the early 90s, Bosco mounted a major tour of the US, and since then he has become increasingly popular internationally, regularly performing at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. Despite his growing popularity outside of his homeland, Bosco remains thoroughly attached to Brazil to the point of never leaving it for extended periods; his music, though rooted in Brazil's classic samba and bossa nova traditions, combines rock and roll, jazz and other ethnic styles in an eclectic brew that is as inventive and challenging as he is. In 2017 Bosco received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Latin Recording Academy at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. His new album, Mano Que Zuera, was released at the end of the year. Michel Meis 4tet Michel Meis, drums+ compositions Cédric Hanriot, piano Stephan Goldbach, double bass Alisa Klein, trombone Born in Luxembourg Michel Meis made his first experience with the drums at the early age of 7 at the Conservatory of Luxembourg, Luxembourg City. After finishing his diploma's in Chamber Music, Classical Percussion and Jazz drums in 2014 with the teachers Guy Frisch, Paul Mootz, Rainer Kind and Al Ginter, Michel entered the Jazz section of the 'Hochschule für Musik Saar' doing his Bachelor in Jazz drums. Since 2011, Michel is also a member of the Luxembourg Military Band and has played in several Jazz-clubs and festivals like the Hong Kong Jazz Festival, Beishan Jazz Festival, Sibiu Jazz Festival, Fête de la Musique Liege and the Brussels Jazz Marathon. Michel is a drummer with ' Everwaiting Serenade ', Dock in Absolute, Juan Gonzalez Trio. He also played drums for The Grund Club Voices and the Grund Club Quartet in 2015 and 2016. Their first record 'Lost in translation' will feature 7 original tunes and a cover of 'Heaven' by Depeche Mode. This album will be relased on January 2019 , on Double Moon Records.
