Michel Meis 4tet Michel Meis, drums+ compositions Cédric Hanriot, piano Stephan Goldbach, double bass Alisa Klein, trombone Born in Luxembourg Michel Meis made his first experience with the drums at the early age of 7 at the Conservatory of Luxembourg, Luxembourg City. After finishing his diploma's in Chamber Music, Classical Percussion and Jazz drums in 2014 with the teachers Guy Frisch, Paul Mootz, Rainer Kind and Al Ginter, Michel entered the Jazz section of the 'Hochschule für Musik Saar' doing his Bachelor in Jazz drums. Since 2011, Michel is also a member of the Luxembourg Military Band and has played in several Jazz-clubs and festivals like the Hong Kong Jazz Festival, Beishan Jazz Festival, Sibiu Jazz Festival, Fête de la Musique Liege and the Brussels Jazz Marathon. Michel is a drummer with ' Everwaiting Serenade ', Dock in Absolute, Juan Gonzalez Trio. He also played drums for The Grund Club Voices and the Grund Club Quartet in 2015 and 2016. The Sound of New York, Mark Turner 'The Sound of New York' is the exploration of the musical world of a new generation of artists based in New York City. These musicians hail from different countries, with their own stories and diverse experiences, are giving birth to a new musical wave that takes shape influencing worldwide the artistic scene. It's right in New York today that this impulse is stronger than ever: the sounds come from a deep integration of music of the past and today, interacting with other artistic forms. It's a modern concentration of African-American music influences, including classical and contemporary, as well as more mainstream styles such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, R'B, Rock, etc 10 musicians internationally known will lead us into this world walking along the streets of New York. We will see the places where they live and listen to the music they compose to know their artistic essence. Mark Turner is an American jazz saxophonist. He played the clarinet, followed by the alto and tenor saxophones in high school. In 1990 he moves to New York and worked at Tower Records in New York City for an extended period before working full-time as a jazz musician. Turner's sound is reminiscent of that of Warne Marsh, but he also has elements of John Coltrane in his playing. His improvised lines tend to span several octaves and contain great harmonic and rhythmic complexity. His compositions often make use of repeated patterns, odd-metered time signatures, and intervallic leaps. Turner claims that his music is 'unfolding like a narrative'. In September 2014, Turner released his first album as a leader since 2001 on ECM Records; it features trumpeter Avishai Cohen, bassist Joe Martin, and drummer Marcus Gilmore. AARON GOLDBERG LIVE AT THE EFG LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL Aaron Goldberg (piano) Joe Sanders (bass) Eric Harland (drums) After graduating from Harvard in 1996, he performed as a sideman and is most associated with saxophonist Joshua Redman. In 2005 and 2006, Aaron toured and recorded with guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, appearing on Rosenwinkel's album The Remedy: Live at the Village Vanguard. In 2005 he toured South America with Madeleine Peyroux and spent 6 months performing with the Wynton Marsalis quartet as well as the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Goldberg's debut album as a leader was Turning Point. His most recent release is Home, which continues his long-standing musical partnership with bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Eric Harland. In 2004, Goldberg organized Jazz for America's Future, an historic fundraising concert for Sen. John Kerry; in 2008 and 2012 he organized Jazz For Obama, similar fundraising efforts for President Obama.

João Bosco, lead, guitar/vocals Ricardo Silveira, guitar Guto Wirtti, bass Kiko Freitas, drums João Bosco has been loved in his home country of Brazil for decades, since the 60s when he first began composing and performing. In the early 90s, Bosco mounted a major tour of the US, and since then he has become increasingly popular internationally, regularly performing at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. Despite his growing popularity outside of his homeland, Bosco remains thoroughly attached to Brazil to the point of never leaving it for extended periods; his music, though rooted in Brazil's classic samba and bossa nova traditions, combines rock and roll, jazz and other ethnic styles in an eclectic brew that is as inventive and challenging as he is. In 2017 Bosco received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Latin Recording Academy at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. His new album, Mano Que Zuera, was released at the end of the year. Born in Toronto (Canada), he learnt piano and guitar at a young age. He studies at Berklee College of Music. Since 2004, Stevens has established himself in the contemporary jazz scene performing and recording with numerous artists including Christian Scott, Terri Lyne Carrington and Esperanza Spalding.Regarded to be one of 'most exciting up-and-coming jazz guitarists' in his generation, Stevens was placed in the Rising Star Guitar Category of the 63rd Annual DownBeat Critics Poll.. He got good reviews from NPR, Jazz Times, Billboard and the New York Times. His debut album as a leader, 'Woodwork', received stellar reviews from critics. The Sound of New York, Mark Turner 'The Sound of New York' is the exploration of the musical world of a new generation of artists based in New York City. These musicians hail from different countries, with their own stories and diverse experiences, are giving birth to a new musical wave that takes shape influencing worldwide the artistic scene. It's right in New York today that this impulse is stronger than ever: the sounds come from a deep integration of music of the past and today, interacting with other artistic forms. It's a modern concentration of African-American music influences, including classical and contemporary, as well as more mainstream styles such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, R'B, Rock, etc 10 musicians internationally known will lead us into this world walking along the streets of New York. We will see the places where they live and listen to the music they compose to know their artistic essence. Mark Turner is an American jazz saxophonist. He played the clarinet, followed by the alto and tenor saxophones in high school. In 1990 he moves to New York and worked at Tower Records in New York City for an extended period before working full-time as a jazz musician. Turner's sound is reminiscent of that of Warne Marsh, but he also has elements of John Coltrane in his playing. His improvised lines tend to span several octaves and contain great harmonic and rhythmic complexity. His compositions often make use of repeated patterns, odd-metered time signatures, and intervallic leaps. Turner claims that his music is 'unfolding like a narrative'. In September 2014, Turner released his first album as a leader since 2001 on ECM Records; it features trumpeter Avishai Cohen, bassist Joe Martin, and drummer Marcus Gilmore.
