Born in Toronto (Canada), he learnt piano and guitar at a young age. He studies at Berklee College of Music. Since 2004, Stevens has established himself in the contemporary jazz scene performing and recording with numerous artists including Christian Scott, Terri Lyne Carrington and Esperanza Spalding.Regarded to be one of 'most exciting up-and-coming jazz guitarists' in his generation, Stevens was placed in the Rising Star Guitar Category of the 63rd Annual DownBeat Critics Poll.. He got good reviews from NPR, Jazz Times, Billboard and the New York Times. His debut album as a leader, 'Woodwork', received stellar reviews from critics. Ambrose Akinmusire Quartet Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet) Sam Harris (piano), Harish Raghavan (bass guitar), Justin Brown (drums) This young trumpet player (aged 36), an American of Nigerian heritage, has an impeccable background (from Berkeley High School to the first prize in the Thelonious Monk competition in 2007), but is much more than an impressive academic CV. He aims to create a personal world 'dedicated to beauty'. Akinmusire was born and raised in Oakland, California and first attracted the attention of the saxophonist Steve Coleman, who asked him to join Five Elements. Ambrose Akinmusire was then 19. He released his first album, 'Prelude (To Cora)', and moved to New York, where he played with Vijay Iyer, Aaron Parks, Esperanza Spalding and Jason Moran. In 2010, he worked with Terri Lyne Carrington, Ron Carter, Wallace Roney, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. Everyone could see that this creative and surprising trumpet player would be a name to watch in contemporary jazz. This view was shared by the Blue Note label, who signed him up. The albums 'When the Heart Emerges Glistening' and 'The Imagined Savior is Far Easier to Paint' were released in 2011 and 2014. The artist draws his landscapes, visions, ideas and states of mind - pure grace! Akinmusire explores the two sides of his temperament: introspection and lyrical ebullience. NORMA WINSTONE TRIO & EMILY REMEMBERED LIVE AT THE EFG LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL Since emerging on the London jazz scene in 1966 with an engagement at Ronnie Scott's Club, Norma Winstone has worked with many of the innovators on the British and European scene. Her unique voice could be said to define an entire era of British and European Jazz, from re-inventions of The Great American Songbook to more abstract excursions into vocal timbre. She recorded five albums for the iconic German record label ECM with the group Azimuth, with John Taylor and Kenny Wheeler. Her own album for ECM, Somewhere Called Home with John Taylor and saxophonist/clarinettist Tony Coe, has become a classic vocal album, and her latest album Dance without Answer was released on ECM in 2013.

These musicians hail from different countries, with their own stories and diverse experiences, are giving birth to a new musical wave that takes shape influencing worldwide the artistic scene.It's right in NY today that this impulse is stronger than ever: the sounds come from a deep integration of music of the past and today, interacting with other artistic forms. His style is directly & indirectly influenced by B.Powell, O.Peterson, McCoy Tyner, P.Bley, H.Hancock. 'The biggest lesson I received from Gerry Weil in Venezuela, was to keep my mind open to all types of music' (L.Perdomo) He has played with R.Irizarry and Timbalaye, Ray Barretto's sextet, D. Sanchez, J.Patitucci, D.Douglas, B.Lynch, T.Harrell, D.Gilmore and D.Weiss & 'The Cookers'... He has been a long-standing member of Miguel Zenon's quartet & was a member of Ravi Coltrane's quartet for 10 years. Mimi Jones (Miriam Sullivant) is an American bassist, vocalist, composer, bandleader, education & founder of Hot Tone Music (lin 2009) & now filmaker.Born in NY city, she was raised in the Bronx. Michel Meis 4tet Michel Meis, drums+ compositions Cédric Hanriot, piano Stephan Goldbach, double bass Alisa Klein, trombone Born in Luxembourg Michel Meis made his first experience with the drums at the early age of 7 at the Conservatory of Luxembourg, Luxembourg City. After finishing his diploma's in Chamber Music, Classical Percussion and Jazz drums in 2014 with the teachers Guy Frisch, Paul Mootz, Rainer Kind and Al Ginter, Michel entered the Jazz section of the 'Hochschule für Musik Saar' doing his Bachelor in Jazz drums. Since 2011, Michel is also a member of the Luxembourg Military Band and has played in several Jazz-clubs and festivals like the Hong Kong Jazz Festival, Beishan Jazz Festival, Sibiu Jazz Festival, Fête de la Musique Liege and the Brussels Jazz Marathon. Michel is a drummer with ' Everwaiting Serenade ', Dock in Absolute, Juan Gonzalez Trio. He also played drums for The Grund Club Voices and the Grund Club Quartet in 2015 and 2016. Their first record 'Lost in translation' will feature 7 original tunes and a cover of 'Heaven' by Depeche Mode. This album will be relased on January 2019 , on Double Moon Records. We will see the places where they live and listen to the music they compose to know their artistic essence. Mark Turner is an American jazz saxophonist. He played the clarinet, followed by the alto and tenor saxophones in high school. In 1990 he moves to New York and worked at Tower Records in New York City for an extended period before working full-time as a jazz musician. Turner's sound is reminiscent of that of Warne Marsh, but he also has elements of John Coltrane in his playing. His improvised lines tend to span several octaves and contain great harmonic and rhythmic complexity. His compositions often make use of repeated patterns, odd-metered time signatures, and intervallic leaps. Turner claims that his music is 'unfolding like a narrative'. In September 2014, Turner released his first album as a leader since 2001 on ECM Records; it features trumpeter Avishai Cohen, bassist Joe Martin, and drummer Marcus Gilmore.
