New York City, 1978) is a composer, performer, educator, and scholar who works across a broad spectrum of jazz-based musical idioms. His recent recording, Travail, Transformation & Flow (Pi 2009), was chosen as the #1 Jazz Album of the year by The New York Times. For this evening's performance, Lehman will perform with his critically-acclaimed trio, featuring Matt Brewer (Bass) and Damion Reid (Drum Set). João Bosco, lead, guitar/vocals Ricardo Silveira, guitar Guto Wirtti, bass Kiko Freitas, drums João Bosco has been loved in his home country of Brazil for decades, since the 60s when he first began composing and performing. In the early 90s, Bosco mounted a major tour of the US, and since then he has become increasingly popular internationally, regularly performing at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. Despite his growing popularity outside of his homeland, Bosco remains thoroughly attached to Brazil to the point of never leaving it for extended periods; his music, though rooted in Brazil's classic samba and bossa nova traditions, combines rock and roll, jazz and other ethnic styles in an eclectic brew that is as inventive and challenging as he is. In 2017 Bosco received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Latin Recording Academy at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. His new album, Mano Que Zuera, was released at the end of the year. The Sound of New York, Vicente Archer 'The Sound of New York' is the exploration of the musical world of a new generation of artists based in New York City. These musicians hail from different countries, with their own stories and diverse experiences, are giving birth to a new musical wave that takes shape influencing worldwide the artistic scene. It's right in New York today that this impulse is stronger than ever: the sounds come from a deep integration of music of the past and today, interacting with other artistic forms. Born and raised in Woodstock, NY, Vicente Archer has been hailed as one of the most sought-out bassists of his generation. NORMA WINSTONE TRIO & EMILY REMEMBERED LIVE AT THE EFG LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL Since emerging on the London jazz scene in 1966 with an engagement at Ronnie Scott's Club, Norma Winstone has worked with many of the innovators on the British and European scene. Her unique voice could be said to define an entire era of British and European Jazz, from re-inventions of The Great American Songbook to more abstract excursions into vocal timbre. She recorded five albums for the iconic German record label ECM with the group Azimuth, with John Taylor and Kenny Wheeler. Her own album for ECM, Somewhere Called Home with John Taylor and saxophonist/clarinettist Tony Coe, has become a classic vocal album, and her latest album Dance without Answer was released on ECM in 2013.

AARON GOLDBERG LIVE AT THE EFG LONDON JAZZ FESTIVAL Aaron Goldberg (piano) Joe Sanders (bass) Eric Harland (drums) After graduating from Harvard in 1996, he performed as a sideman and is most associated with saxophonist Joshua Redman. In 2005 and 2006, Aaron toured and recorded with guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel, appearing on Rosenwinkel's album The Remedy: Live at the Village Vanguard. In 2005 he toured South America with Madeleine Peyroux and spent 6 months performing with the Wynton Marsalis quartet as well as the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Goldberg's debut album as a leader was Turning Point. His most recent release is Home, which continues his long-standing musical partnership with bassist Reuben Rogers and drummer Eric Harland. In 2004, Goldberg organized Jazz for America's Future, an historic fundraising concert for Sen. John Kerry; in 2008 and 2012 he organized Jazz For Obama, similar fundraising efforts for President Obama.

We will see the places where they live & listen to the music they compose to know their artistic essence. Luis Perdomo (born in Caracas) is an American jazz pianist and composer. His style is directly & indirectly influenced by B.Powell, O.Peterson, McCoy Tyner, P.Bley, H.Hancock. 'The biggest lesson I received from Gerry Weil in Venezuela, was to keep my mind open to all types of music' (L.Perdomo) He has played with R.Irizarry and Timbalaye, Ray Barretto's sextet, D. Sanchez, J.Patitucci, D.Douglas, B.Lynch, T.Harrell, D.Gilmore and D.Weiss & 'The Cookers'... He has been a long-standing member of Miguel Zenon's quartet & was a member of Ravi Coltrane's quartet for 10 years. Mimi Jones (Miriam Sullivant) is an American bassist, vocalist, composer, bandleader, education & founder of Hot Tone Music (lin 2009) & now filmaker.Born in NY city, she was raised in the Bronx. She attended The harlem School of the Arts, Fiorello H.LaGuardia Hight School and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Performance from the Manhattan School of Music Conservatory, NY.Her vastwork as a sidewoman includes Gigs with L.Hampton, R.Coltrane, R.Hargrove and L.Perdomo. Wayne Shorter (saxophone), Danilo Perez (piano), John Patitucci (Doublebass), Brian Blade (drums) Award winning Grammy Awards, jazz icon Wayne Shorter comes to Stockholm Jazz Festival with his acclaimed quartet. Shorter is one of the most influential musicians of Modern Jazz. Since the 1950s, he was a dominant musical force, known as one of the improvisers and the world's most important composers. He played in virtually all with the greatest of Art Blakey to Miles Davis for jazz fusion group Weather Report, and has published more than 20 albums under his own name. With his quartet, Shorter changes the rules by his egalitarian operation and wins with youthful insolence as one of the most exciting groups of the early twenty-first century.

Bokanté Malika Tirolien, voice Michael League, guitar & voice Chris McQueen, guitar & voice Bob Lanzetti, guitar Roosevelt Collier, steel guitar Jamey Haddad, percussion Keita Ogawa, percussion André Ferrari, percussion An experiment conceived by Snarky Puppy founder and GroundUP Music creator Michael League (who has traded his bass in for a baritone guitar in this group), the process of formation was all but conventional. The music and some of the melodies were written by League, demoed while on tour with other bands, and then sent to Tirolien with lyrical concepts attached. Tirolien then wrote lyrics and melodies, demoing and ping-ponging the new content back to Michael. Many of the musicians had never even met until the first day of recording. By the end of the week-long session in upstate New York's legendary Dreamland Studios, the band felt abnormally cohesive. 'Unity was paramount in the formation of this group,' observed League. 'Though the ensemble is multi-lingual, multi-cultural, and multi-generational, we all feel connected as musicians and people. And in combining our different accents I feel that there is a strangely common and poignant sound, one that can reach and relate to listeners around the world.' Born in Toronto (Canada), he learnt piano and guitar at a young age. He studies at Berklee College of Music. Since 2004, Stevens has established himself in the contemporary jazz scene performing and recording with numerous artists including Christian Scott, Terri Lyne Carrington and Esperanza Spalding.Regarded to be one of 'most exciting up-and-coming jazz guitarists' in his generation, Stevens was placed in the Rising Star Guitar Category of the 63rd Annual DownBeat Critics Poll.. He got good reviews from NPR, Jazz Times, Billboard and the New York Times. His debut album as a leader, 'Woodwork', received stellar reviews from critics. His last album 'Preverbal' releases on March 2017, Ropeadope Records. Stevens has toured extensively in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Asia, South Africa, and South America. In the early 90s, Bosco mounted a major tour of the US, and since then he has become increasingly popular internationally, regularly performing at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. Despite his growing popularity outside of his homeland, Bosco remains thoroughly attached to Brazil to the point of never leaving it for extended periods; his music, though rooted in Brazil's classic samba and bossa nova traditions, combines rock and roll, jazz and other ethnic styles in an eclectic brew that is as inventive and challenging as he is. In 2017 Bosco received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Latin Recording Academy at the 18th Annual Latin Grammy Awards. His new album, Mano Que Zuera, was released at the end of the year. Born and raised in Woodstock, NY, Vicente Archer has been hailed as one of the most sought-out bassists of his generation. Soon after that he went on to work with artists such as Terence Blanchard, Kenny Garrett, Wynton Marsalis, Stanley Jordan, Stefon Harris and many more.
