These musicians hail from different countries, with their own stories and diverse experiences, are giving birth to a new musical wave that takes shape influencing worldwide the artistic scene. Bilal Sayeed Oliver, better known mononymously as Bilal, is an american singer-songwriter, musician and producer. He is currently artist residing in NY. Between 2001 and 2015, he released 5 albums. Gerald William Clayton is a jazz pianist and composer born in Utrecht, Netherlands and raised in Los Angeles. Clayton attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, USC's Thornton School of Music, where he studied piano with Billy Childs, and the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Kenny Barron. He has performed and recorded with Roy Hargrove, Diana Krall, Dianne Reeves, Terri Lyne Carrington, Ambrose Akinmusire, Dayna Stephens, Kendrick Scott, Ben Williams, Terell Stafford & Dick Oatts, Michael Rodriguez, Avishai Cohen, Sachal Vasandani, Gretchen Parlato, and the Clayton Brothers Quintet. Clayton also has enjoyed an extended association since early 2013, touring and recording with saxophone legend, Charles Lloyd. 2016 marks his second year as Musical Director of the Monterey Jazz Festival On Tour, a project that features his trio with Ravi Coltrane, Nicolas Payton, and Raul Midón. Osby's main instrument is alto sax but he occasionally plays soprano sax. He played on Jack DeJohnette's album Special Edition and has recorded with Jim Hall and Andrew Hill, setting the stage for their appearance on Osby's The Invisible Hand. With Geri Allen, Steve Coleman, Gary Thomas, and Cassandra Wilson, he was a member of the M-Base Collective. He began recording albums under his own name for JMT Records in the 1980s, then signed with Blue Note in the 1990s and recorded fifteen outstanding recordings for that label as a leader. In the 2008s, he formed his own label, Inner Circle Music. A sophisticated musician and gifted melodist on the French scene, Chassol, like an old-style producer, navigates between film soundtracks and original solo albums. In the last few years, for the Tricatel label, the Paris-based musician has developed the concept of 'antivoyage', in which he films and records the sounds and the music of countries he has been visiting. In his live performances he harmonizes and assembles visual and sound elements, creating a unique audiovisual object. After India and New Orleans, Chassol visited his native West Indies and will be presenting his original creation at Villette Sonique.

The Sound of New York, Theo Croker 'The Sound of New York' is the exploration of the musical world of a new generation of artists based in New York City. These musicians hail from different countries, with their own stories and diverse experiences, are giving birth to a new musical wave that takes shape influencing worldwide the artistic scene. It's right in New York today that this impulse is stronger than ever: the sounds come from a deep integration of music of the past and today, interacting with other artistic forms. It's a modern concentration of African-American music influences, including classical and contemporary, as well as more mainstream styles such as Jazz, Hip-Hop, R'B, Rock, etc 10 musicians internationally known will lead us into this world walking along the streets of New York. We will see the places where they live and listen to the music they compose to know their artistic essence. 'I think the only way to preserve any tradition is to simply be knowledgeable of it and put a message or whatever you're doing to move it forward ' (Theo Croker) Theodore Lee Croker is a jazz trumpeter, composer, and bandleader from Leesburg, Florida. He studies in Oberlin Conservatory (Ohio) with jazz artists Gary Bartz, Robin Eubanks, Billy Hart, Wendell Logan, Marcus Belgrave and Dan Wall. In 2006 he was awardedthe Presser Music Foundation Award and use the grant money to record his frist album 'The fundamentals'. In 2013 Croker returned to the USA after a 7 years stay in Shanghai, China, where he broadned his concept of Jazz to encompass other complementary genres such as salsa, fusion-rock, R&B, hip-hop and blues.
